I just got hold of an Ascot digital radio controlled weather station (Aldi special)
Can anyone tell me what I should set the air pressure/baro to, as the forecast seems way off.

Air pressure is displayed in a 4 digit hPa format on the unit.

I'm living in North Co. Dublin, about 8 minutes walk from the sea, with a gradual slope. Does high and low tide make any difference when setting it up?

Thanks for any help or advice.

We usually set pressure to sea level equivalent. So when you look at hourly reports on Met.ie the pressure readings are comparable across all stations despite the altitude differences.

I suggest you set the pressure the same as Dublin AP. The issue at moment is the pressure is rapidly changing and setting barometer now will not be very accurate. Friday may be a good day with high pressure building. Pressure will be fairly stable and the gradient fairly slack and would be a good time to try adjust pressure to that of Dublin AP

I'm currently getting a reading of 1032 hPa on this unit.

Bearing in mind my location (very close to the sea, mentioned in previous post) does this sound like it's set up correctly?

    Thanks.

Current reading at Dublin Airport is 1021 hPa (as of 3pm reports) so you are reading 11 hPa too high. As MM said you'll need to collaborate your station your altitude.
