Wedding Gift - Advice Needed

    Hi All,

Looking to pick a few brains on the topic of wedding gifts...

My brother is getting married this year, and given that it's a family wedding, I would love to get them something that they'll have forever...

My first thought was to get them a piece of bespoke furniture (e.g. a voucher and that they could then have a piece of furtniture made). Unfortunately, the cost of this is likely to run to outside my price range, so I don't think I could go with that now....
Ideally, I don't want to get them something that will live in their attic, and only get taken out when I visit, hence the idea of getting them a voucher rather than something specific....

Anyone any ideas on something long-lasting, but personal?

    Thanks....

A friend of mine recently got a personalised Monopoly Board for her friend's wedding. It had street names of where the couples were from, the place they met etc. I thought it was lovely as board games are something people have forever! I personally love board games, but I suppose it depends on the couple.

I think your idea of getting them a piece of furniture made would be lovely too.

ElleEm - That's a great idea - very cool and very personal.
    Thanks!

we had family crests made for my brother but with a unique twist... but this might not work all the time.

We had the two county shaped in Wood &joined, with each family crest mounted but where the counties join we had a clock face in-set.

Its mounted in the hallway..PM me and i'll forward image and contact info for our Brendan the designer
