Room Thermostat and Timer Advice

I have underfloor heating with thermostats in each room.

I want to drop the temperature by a couple of degrees when I am in bed or middle of day when the house is empty. Currently the bills are very high but I am fully heating the rooms when I am in bed.

Can anyone suggest a good simple programmable termostat. I dont need to spend €100 per thermostat to drop a couple of degrees at night. I assume.

I currently have one with a mechanical dial at the moment, I want to remove it and use the exisiting wires to wire up the new ones.

I understand if I drop the temperature too much I will use as much power to get the temperature back to ambient in the morning. I just want to drop the tempature by a couple of degrees.

    Thanks

    Am a bit confused here:
u have UFO with stats in each room so is each room on a separate loop and when the stat reaches temp the mini-valve on the loop closes but the system continues to run?

What u want to do is use a timer and stat to cut down the input temp to all the loops.

I would forget about the additional stat idea but get a decent time clock and use it to shut down the system for say an hour or 2 at night. Most clocks have 2 on off sequences so if u wanted a rolls royce job get a 3 channel horstmann which will give 6 on offs.

I know nothing about UFH so am just looking at the physics of the problem

I just though a cheaper solution would be to stick a thermostat in the two main rooms that would lower the temperature at night.

I dont want to knock off the heating system as I dont want the temperature in the UFH to go too low as it takes a long time to heat up.

Anyone got any experience in Underfloor Heating

I had a Drayton Digistat fitted to my system (before I upgraded the sysytem to include zone valves). This digistat replaced the original timer and room stat. It's the only device I ever had that had the facility to specify different temperature set points for each time. So, for example, I could set the system to come on in the morning with a set point of 19 degrees and then come on again in the evening with a set point of 21 degrees.

Not sure if its suitable for UFO, but if you want a device to give you a volt free contact based upon time and room temperature then it will work.
