nme tv sky channel 382 and freesat 516 is closing on January 4 to be replaced by chartshow tv +1:mad:
it was a great channel, now there will be nowhere for indie/alternative apart from youtube etc

Feck, some questionable choices of tuneage at times but still miles ahead of a lot of the schlock that's aired on other channels.

Disappointed about this, it was the best of the free music channels on Sky.

It was an alright channel. Never nice to see a music station of its kind go but lets be honest, it was awful repetitive.

    3 words signalled the end.

It is/was better than any of the pay music channels IMO. The mtv's and everything are after turning into load of cáca over the years. There is nothing remotely alternative on there now.

    Na, it went to shite.

It's only four years old as far as I know. :pac:

Bleh, once I've established there's nothing on TV I always just go to 382. Admittedly it's mainly an awful lot of the same thing, and they like The Vaccines a little bit too much, but it's so much better than everything else. For a serial music channel flipper like me, these are sad times. Although...MTV Rocks and Q are decent enough around 40% of the time - If you're ever up early, MTV Rocks is unreal in the morning before like nine and if you like the same five bands that Q likes, and enjoy countdowns, you'll be graaaand. :pac:

It's terrible! The only channel I like, the only indie channel. :(

Seriosuly why bother watch the TV Station when you have the magazine, the website, youtube, last.fm, etc etc etc etc... more cost effective to push digital content.

    This.

NME tv will be no loss in this day and age. I discover most of my indie/alternative music from Rate Your Music, Last.fm, online music magazines, blogs and music forums. The music tv format is dead and I certainly won't miss it. It was fairly limited and seemed to be always mainstream-orientated no matter how "indie" or "alternative" they tried to make it look.
