Funny you should say that - I was watching a film lastnight and there was a naked woman, and before she had sex with the guy, she put some clothes on - I thought it was a bit strange.

I wonder with all the help women have - make up, push up bras, control pants, tights, high heels - are we heading for having too much, meaning that a naked woman isn't going to be as attractive.

but my point is, with all the accessories / fixes etc that women can do, and this is what men see most of the time, couldn't it be that men like the image that they see day to day, and then when they get something fairly different when the woman is naked, they don't like it as much?

I wouldn't find naked women a turn-off now, but I kind of see the OP's point. I get much more turned on when I'm with a woman and she's dressed in sexy underwear, when you have her naked it's kind of "well that's that so!" Whereas there's still an element of a chase, a goal, before you get her naked. I suppose the best way to sum it up is that the prospect of getting a woman naked is more arousing than actually having her naked. The journey is more important than the destination and all that.

Clearly, there are external factors other than a woman's body that influence attraction. Women wearing certain clothes, make up etc is linked to some of our most primal instincts.

In general I would say the reason for this is you're either not seeing enough naked women, or you're seeing too many.

not enough = women hot dressed
too many = used to seeing model-types / reality can't live up to fantasy

Kind of agree with this but I'd say it's more of a case that men notice the positive and don't worry as much about the negative, whereas women are pressurised into trying to have the perfect body and instead focus on their imperfections. E.g. If a woman has nice eyes and a stunning bottom but is a bit round in the middle, lads will like fancy her for the eyes and arse and not really focus on the perceived flaws but they'll hate their body for the middle.

When gals I know ask me for feedback on what to wear/how they look etc, I always tell them to pick a battle and make their positives stand-out (I'm straight, I swear, just have too many female friends that they've rubbed off) rather than trying to cover up things they don't like.

I wouldn't agree with this either. I think leggo's post is closer to my own attitude . I love the thrill of the chase and there are some ways that a woman can dress that I find really, really sexy. I obviously still find a naked woman's body nice, but I can see the OP's point.

Personally I like a woman to dress up, in exactly what I have told them to wear.
