Do people like being ripped off?

I read a thread in Bargain Alerts about the Sony Centers closing and the possible outcome of a liquidation sale.

Not only is the thread closed (fair enough there is no BA at the moment but fore warned is fore armed) but most posts are lambasting the OP for mentioning the fact.

Yes people will lose their jobs but they are the same people that took (your, our , everybodys) money for their vastly overpriced items and got commission for selling us over priced insurance policies to cover them over the last decade.

Why is there such a disconnect between their action before and the possible recompense for the consumer now?

People that robbed the public loose their jobs.

    Bankers: hang them
    Sony staff: poor bastárds

it's the company that took that money. average worker has nothing to do with it. you're blaming the wrong people here

No, that's why we shop online. I haven't been inside a Sony center in 11 years. I was told at the time, from one of there expert staff that mp3 players would never take off. I'm surprised they lasted this long.

A person that works for a company that rips the consumer off is just as liable as the company in my eyes.

Both are in it for the profit, there is no other explanation.

Most of any companies expenses are wages, in fact the worker is more to blame as they are just taking the cash they are given, the employer (who in this case I still despise :-)) are giving someone a job and pay tax for the privilege, something the worker who by their acceptance of the job is unwilling to risk their neck on?????

    Then you need glasses.

Specsavers usually have a 2 for 1 offer. If you think that's expensive, make sure you take it up with the staff member behind the till. That's the staff member that personally sets all the prices in the store.

I was in the dundrum one a few months back . Looking to spend 500 Euro worth of dundrum vouchers, I found the staff slow. It took 30 mins before they came up to me, they were rude, unintrested, and unknowlegable. I made a complaint to the manager showed him my vouchers and the sake hd missed out on and left. He didn't seem one bit intrested. Karma is great.

Specsavers are probably the cheapest supplier of prescription glasses of any of the bricks and mortar chains.

They are the exact opposite of what I'm talking about, do a great job and supply sensibly priced product for the mass market. Their staff should be applauded.

Have you completely misunderstood everything above?

This isn't really the place for this thread. It's half side Feedback, half rant about Sony and its employees.

Feel free to start a new thread dealing with the idea of us liking being ripped off in general though if you want to discuss that. I don't want to see this forum used for complaining about thread closures in another forum though.
