Need info on Word Perfect Translation agency

Hi, I have academic experience in Translation and Linguistics. I did the Applied Languages course in DCU. I have LC-level German, and college-level Japanese. Both need some brushing up; it's been nearly 2 years since I left college, but I'm fully capable of bringing them both up to scratch.

The internship is as an assistant to project managers in the agency. The ad says that some hands-on translation would be involved as well.

I'm interested in this for the experience in a working translation agency, the hands-on team management work and basically expanding my skill set as well as finding out how much I like this work.

I hope that this is a paid position.

If you are working with project managers then the role will allow you to interface with all the different elements, sales, production and hopefully some client interaction.

I would be wary of doing too much translation if they are not paying you, although most companies use translators based in the target countries to ensure better quality and keeping the translations closer to the real target language.

If you're translating, it should only be into English. I can see why you would want to take it, as it is not easy to make that first break without previous experience.

Apparently, they pay 100 quid a month for an internship (source: jobs.ie), which is a joke, considering the amount of work they say you will be doing. I really don't know how anyone could live that on that, but I don't know if you can claim Benefits whilst interning.
