    Homepage being www.google.com?
    And you get www.microsoft.com?
Are you using bing or google as search engine?

What web browser are you using? I would try clearing the browser cache and see if that helps. Also how do you search? Via the short search bar, long address bar in the browser or a text box on the bing webpage?
Bing and Microsoft.com while the same company are completely different sites so we need a bit more info such as browser and how you perform the search to try solve the problem

The Browser is the program you connect to the internet with. IE: Internet explorer, Firefox, google chrome. I'm guessing internet explorer the blue E icon.

Internet explorer can have multiple search boxes for specific sites that get installed if your not careful, your search boxes can then be high jacked by other companies. I wouldn't think that happened though as they wouldn't be sending you to the Microsoft site.

Try google chrome if you haven't already it's a much simpler browser.

I'm assuming Internet Explorer is your browser, go to tools>Internet Options>Delete Temporary files and remove all history/Cache, see if that helps.
