Can I access my iPhone backup contacts?

Lost my iPhone recently and I thankfully have all the data in a backup on my PC. I'm wondering if it's possible to access this backup data while I wait for my new phone to arrive? I'm working off a temporary phone and I'd like to be able to access some of my contacts but I'm not sure if that's accessible through iTunes or…

Open itunes, and check if it uses Outlook or Windows Address book for syncing contacts, then look in those apps for them.
