Does anyone know if there are any speed traps in St. Anton?

I was out there in Jan this year and didn't see any. A place I go skiing in Switzerland has one at the side of a black run, and its ridiculously good fun. :D

Heading back to St. Anton on 7th Jan and wouldn't mind knowing before.

There's two that measure your speed on red slopes in Lech (you can get a ski bus to the area, it's covered by your St. Anton lift pass).

Most resorts have one somewhere so Punters in Silly hats can try to prove just how good they are by skiing stupidly out of control past one :D

I like to think my hats arent that silly..... the rest of your post is spot on though.

This black run in Switzerland I was last on with a speed trap is crazy. Its behind a rope fence to stop people getting onto it and to keep it smooth, but joins back up with the main black slope near the bottom, so you end up tearing past people at 90kmph. Loads of preassure on your legs when you're slowing down.

GPS's probably doesn't give you accurate speed readings on a ski slope. Something to do with the vertical drop combined with the horizontal travel.

Or you could just ski enjoy the mountains and work on skiing right rather than fast.

    Just a thought!

Well Im obviously not going to St Anton to ski straight lines all week....

Going very fast in straight lines is just fun sometimes.

There is a speed trap on rendl which is the smaller area south of the town. (where the snow park is) however it didn't appear to be working this week ( just back). then again it has been buried in about four foot of snow and that run was closed.

From experience I know for a fact there is one in Lech and it's also an awesome ski area as well check in for some lunch in oberlech (bring some cash it's pricey) unfortunatly one cannot ski from Antonio to Lech but the bus is regular or else just drive and park at the bottom of the slope it's cheap enough.

OH YES YOU CAN!!!!Right over the back of the Valuga! Probably one of the most famous and fun off piste challenges in the European Alps

Id Imagine going off the back of Valuga at the moment is amazing/fatal, St Anton is getting a serious dump of snow at the moment. :D
