Optimising Hot Water Immersion Tank

    Hi all. Just A Quick question. Is it possible to Optimise your Immersion tank so you get just nice warm water for baths /showers etc. At the moment our water is in the realm of "burn the hand of ya". The immersion tank appears to have 2 thermostats. A blue cap on top which i assume houses the heat thermostat. It also has a strap on cylinder thermostat that i have placed about 1/4 way up from the bottom of the tank. set to 55 degrees as per link. Is it possible to get the warm hot enough for a shower without having to add cold water while in the shower. The water coming from the taps is also too hot for comfort. What temp should i be setting the top built in immersion tank too? Or does the tank have to get very hot at the top to heat the rest of the tank. Any advice welcome :)
    The immersion is also connected to the heating system and also has motorised valves as far as i can see.

    the thermostat with blue cap is one for the immersion heater(electric water heater) the other stat 1/4 down the tank is from your boiler (gas oil solid fuel ) if you get most of your hot water from your boiler you can turn down the stat on the side of the tank by 5 or ten degrees and try it for a few days. i have often seen stats set at 50 and the tap water at 65 because of the position of the stat being to low down on the cylinder.
    if you use the immersion all the time you can remove the blue cover and there is a small stat inside ranges between 45 and 75 you can adjust in accordingly making sure you have all the power turned off
    there is no mortised valve on a immersion most likey the valve you see is the one for heating the hot water coil which is controlled by the stat on the side of the cylinder.one other thing it not recommended to run a hot water storage system at a low temperature because of the below link on
