    Lifting -
    Squat 260kg
    Deadlift 280kg
    Bench 150kg
    20 BW Pullups

    Other-
    Win Championship
Score a point from the halfway line (off the ground - bit of a random one, just something I've wanted to do for a while)
And being totally honest, a six-pack would be nice too :D

I aim to gain weight in 2012. I am currently just under ten stone, and by the end of next year I would like to be 11 stone.

2011 was a right off. So my goals for 2012 are simple:

    Injury free.
Learn to snatch and C&J properly.
BF below 14%, currently 23%. Fatty fat fat.
    Run a sub 45min 10k in H1 and a sub 40 in H2.
Squat a lot, ditto deadlift. I'm not even talking weight I'm talking frequency. Injury free is the key here.
And sure feck it, throw in 18inch guns for the craic :).

    they/them/theirs

Figure out what's up with my thyroid, and sort that out.
I've just under 10kg to lose, it would be nice to see the scales go down for once but going to focus on body fat get that sub 25%(hopefully 20% but if I do have a thyroid problem that might be too difficult)
Sort out my leg muscles, I noticed that my knees kept going in during squats (30kg ones) so it's lots of foam rolling and some glute stuff.

I think that's it, just really sort my body out.

    Hmm..

    *10 pullups..is a MUST
*100kg squat...yup a bit far fetched...but I 've had that number in my head for a loooong time and I really WANT it.
    *130-135kg Deadlift...fingers crossed
*To keep trying new sports to see what I like

*And lastly the main goal that I'll need to focus on....is to try bring training volume down to actually give myself a chance to recover.

    :) New year..all motivated..can't wait!

I'm also going for the 10 pullups! Doing (light) weighted pullups now so making a bit of progress with that recently .. :)

An 80 kg deadlift would also be nice but not sure how my back will cope with that .. will have to take it very slowly.

Started bench pressing too .. doing reps of 27.5kg. What's a good bench goal for a 51kg female say in 3 months?

My bench has moved all of 5kg in a year:eek::eek: Although I am dreadful at it..and lack concentration completely..and plainly don't like it! I'd love a bodyweight bench..why dont you aim for that for the end of the year?

I forgot about pull ups! I want to be able to do them. I'm not progressing at all with them, it would help if I lost that 8-9kg and got my bodyweight under 60kg. Was going to get a cheap pull up bar in lidl and just do lots of negatives too.

I'm going to aim for for 4 reps by the end of the year.

Glowing I'm benching the same as you, I use 2x14kg dumbbells, I think I'm going to be able to go up 2kg in a month or two. For three months I think you should go for over 30kg maybe 31kg.

Guess I'll just parrot what I said in the other thread -

    In order of importance:

Get to be something resembling properly lean.*

Bench 140kg (If I just do back-to-back Coan Bench cycles all year long and eat right/loads, why not?)
    Squat 230kg
    Deadlift 240kg
(my current 1RMs for the above are probably 115/215/220 respectively)

^Those numbers might be more ambitious if I wasn't also intending to try to do the rest of the stuff below.

*This will probably mean getting down to something no higher than 90kg BW... which might also be convenient if I'm going to:

Get better at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Even if I put in a good solid year I'll still be miles off a blue belt or whatever so I don't really know how I'd quantify this one other than just... get better.
Get back to training muay thai/striking stuff. Or just the whole shebang of MMA I guess. I keep getting the impression wreslting = injury though.

One other, maybe just optional goal: start doing some oly lifting, hopefully see progress at it.

Oh, and do some kind of PL comp

Currenttly 22%BF, 76kg, poor diet, average training.

    First 6 months 2012

    Training goals:
Q1: 12 wk size and strength program (scuppered last attempt with shoulder injury). Have my last 1RM efforts saved, aim to increase 1RM by 20%

    Q2: 10k < 52mins (haven't run < 55 ever, nearly 6 months since I ran at all!)

    Diet and Weight Goals:
    Jan 1:
Remove simple sugars (sweets/sweet coffee/biscuits/toast) from diet

Remove cheap carbs (spuds/pasta) replace with better alternatives (veg/wholegrain pastas/rices/lentils)

Begin calorie counting so tweaks/adjustments can be made.

    May 30th:
    Weight < 72kg, BF% < 18

That's it, not too crazy but the sub-52 and the weight/fat-loss will be hard! Cant wait to get started all the same (gotta mind the shoulder though).

    Happy new year folks!
    :D

1st goal would be to sort out my knee and back and avoid any new injuries.

2nd goal, provided goal 1 is met, is to bench 100kg, deadlift 200kg and squat 150kg.

3rd goal, get under 10% body fat and weigh about 80kg by the end of the year, currently around 77.5kg and about 14.5% body fat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 202 ✭✭Wollwead

For me the 2nd half of 2011 was much more focused and I started to put some decent numbers together, felt much more mobile and dropped some body fat too as my diet wasn't stop/start like the first half of 2011! I now have a good platform to work with heading in to 2012: 180 DL, BW + 40KG weighted dips for 3 reps. So I'll just build on that momentum and get my DL well into the 200s but first thing is to sort out my poxy hip mobility that's been holdin me back from putting up REALLL squatting numbers! 2012 looks bright for me. BRING IT ON BABY!

Get to 80kg now 75kg dl 125kg squat 140kg do 8 weighted pull ups with 30kg currently at 20kg for 8 so away to go yet. I have a feeling its going to be a good year :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,684 ✭✭✭marathonic

I was progressing, albeit slowly, up until November and then spent a few weeks on holidays followed by the Christmas "silly season". I'd a sprained wrist for a while so haven't done any lifting in 1.5 months. I've also put on about 9lbs fat overall (the first plan is to lose this - probably take all of January).

    TARGETS
    • Go from 82kg at (probably) high teens % bodyfat to 85kg at low teens %
    • Get back to running and do 2 miles in 12 minutes/5 miles in 35 minutes
    • 100kg Bench
    • 140kg Squat
    • 200kg Deadlift
    • 80kg O/H Press
    • 12 Dips with BW + 25kg
    • 8 Pullups with BW + 20kg

A lot of goals there and some are pretty tough looking (for me) but I should achieve some of them early in the year as well.

I'm also going to do some hamstring flexibility work this year.

I've big plans for 2012 and am hoping they progress as intended.

Over in A/R/T I've told everyone, next year I want to get to 1st July injury free and attempt Ironman. After that, who knows?

    LIFTING:
Someone:) suggested a 50kg snatch, its a number to work towards. The easy thing about that is I just have to aim for at least 4 training sessions a week.

A 90kg squat would also go down a treat too, the hard thing is it depends on knees & hip flexors. Guess that's another goal, get knees in better working order.

    DIVING:
At least 30 dives, leading a few this year. Also doing my Rescue Diver, which means working on my swimming fitness again, got side tracked last year.

    DIET:
Dr wants me to have another go at an Elimination diet to see about these weird body aches. Hated it the last time I did it.:(

Keep up more regularly making enough food (mainly roasted veggies with a bit of protein worked the best) to take to work through out the week. Less wine (can't afford it anyway).

Get down to 12% ish bodyfat while gaining a lot of muscle. Packed on the pounds and was lazy as over Christmas, starting back training tomorrow now hopefully I get good results in the immediate future.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,049 ✭✭✭thehamo

mine is to get down to at least 14% body fat (hovering around 21 at the moment) get back down to at least a 34" waist, get my back finally sorted properly and to finish Gaelforce West in 5 hours 20 minutes ( knock an hour off my time from last year). Would also like to attemp cross fit or cross fit type lifting this year, but thats very much depending on if I can get my back in order.

Er, those women are fairly serious, is it tested?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,800 ✭✭✭The Guvnor

IIRC the lady in the picture is an ex-gymnast and not very tall - 5ft-5ft2.

You can definitely tell that she knows a bit about weights.

Now I am not into Crossfit, never done it, know very little about it but if I am right she is Canadian.

She is not the best female crossfitter out there iirc but she is definitely a good advert for crossfit and very photogenic!

EDIT - Her name is Camille Leblanc-Bazinet and she might be the best female crossfitter out there! :-)
