is there a preliminary round in qualifiers this year?

    Is there a preliminary round on 23 june in this years football qualifiers?
    And if so why?

    Hmmm. According to the Master Fixture list there is. Don't think there's ever been a preliminary round with the current qualifier system.
    It may be a safety net on the off chance that Sligo don't beat New York. In previous years, had New York won, the losing team would have been out of the championship completely.

    That makes sense, I remember hearing they were going to change that.
