Hi i just have a quick question in relation to insurance.

i have my own can and my own insurance, my GF is looking to renew her insurance and has a quote, but if i add myself it goes down a lot.

I will be driving the car every now and then so i am just wondering if this is ok to be insured on 2 different policies and will it affect the policies in any way.

Any information would be a great help

    Thanks

Points have nothing to do with it.

If you crash her car into somebody while driving it and you have a Driving Other vehicles part to your own policy then BOTH your Policy and Her's pay out for the accident. 50% for Third Party loss each.

We get plenty of people on here giving out about that kind of situation so you've been warned.

It's cheaper because the insurers financial risk is lower... Not because you don't have as many points as her.

    Thanks for that.

I don't have that option on my insurance that's why we were looking at this situation.

Sorry I kind of got mixed up in what I was saying, she done the application on her own and got a price of €950 she has 3 points and 2 claims, I done one and the price was €1350 I have no points and no claims.

She is only 5 months older and 6 months more driving than my self and I was just saying that she still get the cheaper insurance.

I know it's always been this way but it still annoys me.
