Received a damaged Driving License?

    Hey folks,

Renewed my DL the other week and received the new one on the 23rd. The license is in terrible condition though. The top right corner looks like it was cut and it just about goes over the first letter in my surname.

It makes it looks like I've tampered with it. I've tried a google but I can't see who I can ring for them to give me a new one. All I've found is a form to apply for a replacement license of yours is lost or damaged but they expect you to supply new photos and a €10 fee for the privilege. But seeing as how I did not damage the license there's no way I'm paying that.

Anyone know what steps I should follow?

Better still go in in person with Licence in hand. You'll find a list of all Local Motor Tax Offices HERE

Thanks tried ringing Ballymun Tax Office but it just keeps ringing, not even an answering machine.

It will be tomorrow when they reopen, expect a skeleton staff and a 2 hour wait for someone to answer the phone.

I called the Motor Tax office number yesterday and it says that the offices will reopen on the 3rd of January so you may have to wait until then.
