    - at what time of year did you shoot them ?
    - have always wanted to do some images like these - what gear did you use ?

magic love that last one. How do you get over there? Is there boat trips?
I got close to them islands last weekend. Here is a shot I took with them in the distance,

Think it was the last week in July.
    I was shooting with a Sony A900 with a G-Series 70-300mm Lens.

I’m in the Waterford Camera Club so there was a load of us that went over to the Island that day. Highly recommend it…!!!! It’s unbelievable to think we have such a fantastic place just 30 minutes in a board off our cost.

    Regards
    James

    Nice shot.
Yeah, cost us 20 Euro a head for a round trip. Take about 30 minutes to get over there. The day we were crossing it was a rough as hell. Got soaked.

On the way back it was fantastic though. The sun was after coming out for the most of the day. Not too hot, not too cold. The birds were very active.

    Regards
    James

Would you have to hire someone specifically to ferry you over there or is there any dedicated service that goes out to the Saltees every now and then?
Love the photos by the way!

Great shots Tubbritt. The only species of bird I recognize there is the puffin. What are the other 2?

That's because a lot of birds in Ireland you will only ever find off the coast of Wexford and the South East, i.e the Saltees!

I'm probably wrong but I'm guessing the 5th one is a seagull... Hmmm

When I saw the yellow/brown heads, I thought they might be something else.

Big ones with the yellow heads are gannets, the pair of large black birds are razorbills. #5 I don't know, might be just a seagull ?

There is a guy who sails out from Kilmore Quay most days during the summer. I can't remember the exact times but you will be dropped off in the morning and collected again that evening. You need to ring and book a spot on the boat. His number is 087 2529736.
You will get wet on the boat so be sure to bring a change of clothes in the car.

A seagull is just a general name for all gulls. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them probably but by googling a herring gull it looks like the one in question indeed.

I like the first one, it looks like daddy razorbill is just trying to eat his dinner but mammy razorbill won't stop nagging him and he's just staring off into the distance asking for the strength not to explode into a violent rage.

    Second attempt

[ img ] starts the link [ /img ] ends it, just stick the link inbetween those (without the spaces). you had two separate links in your code.
