Saab 9-3 2.2 TiD orange engine light comes on intermittently

Hi, I own a 2004 Saab 9-3 2.2 TiD manual gearbox. I HAVE problems with the orange light on the dash coming on, i.e the engine symbol. The car goes into "limp mode" where it won't let you pass 50 mph or so. Any suggestions please? It may alos be coincidence but my wiper washer and intermittent wipers are also not working:(
Any help would be greatly appreciated I assure you; I noticed that there were similar threads a few years ago.

If the light is coming on and the car is going into limp mode then there will be some faults logged in the ECU. You need to get someone who knows what they are doing to read and interpret those fault codes for you. Where are you located?
