Replacement windows?

So, my sister decided to go for a walk this morning at a walking site. She parked in the car park and came back to find a smashed window. Looks like these people don't even take a day off for Christmas. Going to try the insurance route, but if it will affect the no-claims we might try and source a replacement window ourselves. Only problem is I don't know anywhere that does car windows. I wouldn't mind getting a quote so see how much we're looking at.

If it's only one window, it's not worth losing no claims. Any windscreen place should be able o fit a new one

Though break any day of the year :-(

Of all the windows they could break, thats the least expensive and lowest labour required so its not all bad. Unless she has glass cover, the excess will almost definitely be higher (assuming €250) than the cost of fitting that glass. Pay out of your own pocket without a doubt.

Check your policy. I've all my windows covered and it won't affect my no claims bonus if I make a claim.

As above, if you have glass cover then it won't affect no claims.

Front windscreen is generally free and doesn't affect you ncb. Side Windows are not covered

That depends on whether you have full glass cover on your policy or just windscreen cover.

Without generalising, do many people with mid 90s corsas have fully comp?

Update on this : We're insured with AXA who arranged for the window to be replaced, free of charge. It didn't affect our NCB nor did we have to pay excess. All in all, a good result! :)
