    I dont remember it too well. I think it was just a kids book and isnt regarded as canon or anything.

    Perfect sequel is where ET turns out to be a meat eating alien who likes to boil his food (Elliot) alive. Indiana Jones arrives on a spaceship stolen by Darth Vader (on one of his good days). Everyone is saved. ET finally dies....or does he ?.....

    Steven Spielberg then, there was a sequel idea pitched where bad aliens showed up and ET came back to earth to help Elliot, or he went to ET's planet, or some guff. He said it was fine by itself and a sequel wasnt necessary, and he was right. They'll probably make it when he's dead.
