JG AUG A3 (AU-3G) internals.

I've been looking at this airsoft rifle for a while now and I might be thinking of getting one sometime next year in February, just want to know if anyone has ever had any experience with it internally.

Why I "might" want one... it's different than having a M4. That's my only reason.

I've already seen a JG AUG A1 from the outside so I know what the plastic and metal quality is like and I have no complaints about it as I think it's up to my standards, should be the same with the AUG A3.

My main question is that I heard that there's a MOSFET and an upgraded gearbox inside the A3, rather than the A1 and A2 made by JG. This is really what I would like to know about and if anyone has anything to say it'll be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

You are correct the JG AUG A3 comes with a Mosfet as standard
It also has Metal bushings as opposed to the Nylon ones found in the A1/A2 versions and has a better shim job which will improve both the smooth running and life of the gearbox

A very nice performer if a bit front heavy has a 500mm inner barrel, both the A1/A2 use a 509mm barrel
It make very little difference but something to look out for if you consider changing it to a tight bore

    Thanks DeBurca.

At least I know that it comes with a MOSFET, never actually knew it had metal bushing and a better shim job rather than the A1/A2. All the more the better!:D

If I was to get the JG AUG A3, what upgrades would you consider. I've always heard about trigger contact issues with the AUGs... or does that only happen if you abuse it?

i did roller bearings, new gear set, and proper shimming job done by myself ;) and greasing.....
also put solid cylinder, piston, cylinder head, nozzle, and tight bore barrell in my jg a2.... things f'''''g unreal now...
had a mosfet on it when i got it.. didnt like it.. know the technical of it but was a bad soldering job, and not good enough wire used... went back to std wiring... used it a good bit and the things perfect..
i think possibly people manage to maybe lube the trigger contact, and this corrodes it..? mines perfect like i say... and shes an old girl.. ha ha

Sorry to thread jack. But I need to know what combination of cylinder head and nozzle you used? I tried both ultimate V3 heads with a metal deep fire nozzle and ultimate nozzle but lost a lot of fps, so I had to switch back to stock head and nozzle! Very frustrating after spending so much on upgrades that don't work, any info would be much appreciated

First I bought the ultimate aug cylinder head (orange colour) with the ultimate aug nozzle, nozzle was a too tight to fit, so imported a Deepfire metal aug nozzle to loose, so bought the ultimate standard V3 head (purple colour) same story with the nozzles to loose, BUT, the biggest problem was that all the custom nozzles are SHORTER than the stock parts. Just chrono'ed it with the stock head and nozzle a moment ago, using .2 bio, a low of 316 fps to a high of 324 fps, happy days. So every other part of the gearbox is ultimate bar the head and nozzle, but at those figures I can live with it!!

i know what you mean with the nozzles socom.. ive come accross this myself... altho the one i bought to replace the old one was same length, made sure to check...
was very tight on the cylinder head too, i just applied grease to inside of nozzle, it'll wear loose... prob not before locking the gearbox a couple of times, did this to me... also ive found some of the nozzles manage to pop off the tappet plate... just a matter of the whole gearbox being shimmed right and cylinder, piston head etc are alligned right..

I read about a guy called tackett on the airsoftsociety forum, he bought every aug nozzle out there and lined them up and not one of them was an exact match! Although he told me to use the Deepfire metal nozzle and shave the front of the tappet plate to make up the distance. Might try this, but after pulling the thing apart 6 times in two days I might just skirmish it instead and enjoy it, managed to shoe horn a 9.6 1600 cranestock into it tonight, it's demonic!!!!
