Honestly, I wouldn't buy a 7 inch tablet. I think it's a waste of money. Just move closer to your smart phone! :)

yeah seems expensive to me, especially for a 7 inch. plus its nor running android.

Neither was the HP when that went firesale originally.

    But there was a start

It's a sale - not really a firesale though, is it?

Declan (from Currys / PC World) will be doing a sale announcement on here tomorrow, so we'll see if it features then.

True but the Touchpad was 10inch and 99euro

Yes, but it's unrealistic to think we're ever going to get a deal like the touchpad again - it was a massive loss for HP and the screen in it cost more to construct than the sale price

If you are thinking about getting the RIM then the Kindle Fire may be worth looking at also. They are $199 in the US - not selling in the UK yet but if you know someone in the states you can get one. I wouldn't be too disappointed if you didn't get a RIM as there are a few other similarly priced competitors out there.

I have the touchpad and think its great. Friends have the 7" Sammy and the Kindle fire and are very happy with them.

Considering they are made by same company, ODM Quanta, then is a fair likeness - story is that Amazon went to Quanta and asked about a 7" tablet design... "Funny you ask that, we have a template for one of them":D

I would be a big fan of Blackberry's as a phone and business e-mail device but having played around with the Playbook and fact that it has none of the BB Enterprise features, unless you actually tether it with a BB handheld, I would not really be interested in it unless it hit the Touchpad price point. Playbook is fairly much just good for browsing, movies and pictures... what 90% of people want - but very few decent apps etc for it.

Playbook's HDMI out is nice feature that I wish my touchpad had. I think Cyanogen are investigating it

Doing a sale announcement tomorrow on these is a little late, no? I bought the second last one of these in the Craigavon branch of Currys today, they'll be gone in no time.

Not great prices at all, seeing as you could just import a Kindle Fire for the same price which is more current and runs Android!

Nothing wrong with the Kindle Fire, but technically it's much inferior to the Playbook.
