Merry Christmas or Happy Christmas?

I've noticed over the last coupla years that more people on the radio and TV are saying happy Xmas instead of merry Xmas.

If I'm not mistaken it's traditionally 'merry Xmas and happy solar revolution acknowledgement day'.

So which is best? Merry Xmas or Happy Xmas.
    Pedantic bastards ye.

Can a mod add a poll please?

I've noticed over the last coupla years that more people on the radio and TV are saying happy Xmas instead of merry Xmas. ...
So it's important to you to be compliant with the meeja ass holes who are full of their own importance. Poor you
... If I'm not mistaken it's traditionally 'merry Xmas and happy solar revolution acknowledgement day'. ...
You are mistaken. In Ireland the wish is for a "Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year", your hidden abuse of posters notwithstanding
... So which is best? Merry Xmas or Happy Xmas. ...
Neither, your further hidden abuse of posters notwithstanding

Several people have said either "god jul" or "hyvää joulua" to me today. Both phrases literally mean "good yuletide/Christmas":):):).

It's always Merry Christmas, because a Happy New Year's usually tagged on at the end. FACT!

I hid a little message written in white in the OP and I think he got annoyed.

    I didn't mean any harm.

Not at the messages so much as the sneaky way they were included.

BTW where did you rob my pre-school infant picture from?

First get merry and move swiftly on to getting happy. Works everytime.

I say Merry, as it is easier to mumble than Happy.

Sometimes I might say Jolly Christmas if for the divilment if I am in a more jovial mood :D

Only an alien that fell off a mothership would say that, preceded by "ouch".:(
