    Every year at christmas the local supermarkets here have people who hand out paper bags and ask people to fill it with non perishable items for local familys with little money. I think its a lovely idea and i fill one or 2 when im doing my shopping.

    But last night in my local tesco i witnessed something that royally pissed me off. As i walked in a woman with a big trolly was in front of me, she was handed a bag and made a point of asking for a few more, loudly declaring "Its the least i can do"

    So i pottered around the aisles and she was in front of me, when we turned the first corner, she threw some of the bags for charity into the reduced item shelf,:eek: ok so maybe she felt generously she had been ott??

    so few mins later i was shoppn away filln my bag etc and she passed me in the alcohol aisle , and her trolley was stacked with drink and tinnes of roses/biccys etc, all brand name stuff. And as i passed her she stuffed the rest of the chartiy bags in between some drink on a shelf and said to her husband "**** them beggers they are getting enough off people already"

    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    You think with all the guinness and roses and all the brand name **** in her trolley she could spare a tenner to throw some food into a bag for a family:mad:

    What annoys me is she made a point of taking a pile of bags.

    One trick is to tell 'em stories that don't go anywhere - like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Give me five bees for a quarter, you'd say.

    Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...
