Some years ago I purchased a light up Santa here in Limerick. Unfortunately the bulb has died. I have tried everywhere, including where I bought it, and have been told they are not making them anymore. I don't suppose anybody has one and might know? I don't even know what I'm looking for really beyond "Santa bulb". I think I might need a "night light bulb" but still am not sure. If anybody could help at this time of year especially I'd be most grateful! :)

Here are some photos of the Santa and the last pic in particular is helpful.

Try the smaller of the edison screw 20w ones from b&q, woodies etc.

Failing that i'd bring it into an electrical wholesalers

Most likely a night light bulb alright, but not the small screw in 'e14' type, probably a smaller screw in 'e12' type, 7 watt. Should be available in any Wholesalers.

Yes! This is exactly what my research has lead me to as well. A C7 Edison Screw Night Light bulb. The only problem left is whether I need an E14 or E12. The first place I tried was the electrical wholesaler called Trade Electric here in Limerick where I bought the Santa. They told me the bulb wasn't being made anymore!!!

It might be easier to replace the lampholder and use a more common lamp

They are definitely still made and readily available. Just ring around a few Wholesalers near you and you should find one :)

Yea he probably couldn't of been bothered to go out the back and have a look for you. Like this santa is the only product in the world that uses that bulb

Well I actually emailed Trade Electric again and this time they helped to be fair. They found a bulb that fitted but it wouldn't light up! Now we're thinking there's a problem with the power cord! Sigh! Looks like poor Santa has a "dim" future ahead :D

Was in that wholesaler when working in Limerick last month and was well impressed with their range of products and service. If anyone can light up that Santa then they will !

Changed the fuse and the bulb was lighting for a short time before stopping again. Won't know more until we finally get a bulb that fits properly. We were trying with an E14 and having to push it down hard to make the connection. Will get an E12 today I think.
