    You've got a much larger problem by the looks of things.

    http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/hijackthis/HiJackThis.msi

    Install and run that then copy and paste what it gives you here.

    The standard answer is Chrome - which is an unhelpful response, especially considering FF is present a similar problem. I happen to hate the way Chrome works, in both how it loads pages and it's simplistic interface. IE is a perfectly good browser.

    To give people a better chance at helping you solve the problem, post up the specs of your computer, and if possible, any error messages you see. On Windows 7(possibly Vista, not sure about XP), you can look at "Event Viewer" (search in the Start Menu) for any obvious errors and post them up here.

    Simple things first;

    Do you have a working internet connection?
    Does the computer lag, or does IE just close automatically?
    Do any other programs close in the same way?
    Is there a firewall installed, or any internet filters installed by an employer?
    Is your version of windows up to date, and have you the lateset version of the program installed?

    Regards,
    Kevin

    You're looking for a workaround to a bigger problem methinks. As was mentioned earlier in this thread please update/install anti-virus (I use Microsoft Security Essentials) and run a scan. It could be malicious software\spyware shutting your browsers down.
