One thing I have noticed about city timetables especially viewing them online on the Bus Eireann website all you get is a bunch of times, no stops with name of streets is displayed. For example I live in Salthill so when I look at the timetable all I see are the times like 0710, 0742 etc but no indication of where in Salthill that time is applied to, is it Threadneedle road? The bus stop outside Caesers Palace? Is it at the GAA stadium?

When I lived in Edinburgh the timetable had the street name where the stop is situated and the time and each stop / street on the subsequent route displayed. Why is there no info like this in the Irish city services.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

The times are from the terminus on Dr Mannix Road or Eyre Square depending on your direction of travel.

Yes indeed, official investment is passenger information in Galway is, umm, light.

It's the GAA stadium for route 1s buses. Not sure about 1d. I only know this 'cos I've ridden the 1s a bunch of times, and that is where the bus stops and waits for the departure time.

Here is a route map for the 1s service (integrated with Google maps and all.

I should have been clearer. Looking at the bus timetable here it would appear that the following is the case:

1D - Times are from terminus opposite Promenade car park
1S - Times are from terminus on Dr Mannix Road

However you can only tell which is which by figuring out which bus does the outbound journey first!
