    Thank you so much!

I may be wrong on this, but as far as I'm aware it has to be a "via Dublin" option. So it would be bus to Dublin, then on to Newry. I could well be corrected on that though.

True, but you can avoid Dublin City Center by getting a bus to the Airport and getting the Belfast bus from there...

Indeed, for the combination of cheapest plus fastest, aim for one of the Bus Éireann express services to Dublin, they go to the airport first - and join BE's travel club, and book on-line.

If that's not possible, then CityLink of GoBus to Dublin, and someone else (BE or another company, I'm not exactly sure who does it) for Dublin to Newry.

From Dublin Airport, get the Aircoach to Belfast. It stops in Newry, as far as I remember, pretty much in the center of town.

Gobus or Citylink to Dublin City Centre, short walk to Busaras then bus to Belfast via newry every hour on the hour. Works out €5 cheaper than getting either companys bus on to the airport. Plus there is always a scrum for seats at the airport these days. Usually at peak hours they run two buses, one going direct from Busaras, not picking up at the airport thus saving even more time.

The buseireann "express" to the airport is a bit of a joke as it still goes via Loughrea, Ballinasloe and Athlone. Ive tried it twice and its pretty uncomfortable and has taken longer than either Citylink or Gobus on both occasions - over 3 hours as opposed to the promised 2 hours 40 mins.

By the way, Aircoach doesnt operate a Belfast service anymore.

Aircoach no longer runs to belfast - stopped well over a year ago.

Go via Dublin but not the airport - I've learned through bitter experience that hte Belfast bus is usually very full by the time it gets to the airpirt and it's not unusual to have to wait another hour forthe next one...

take the city link to dublin and the train from there. the train has a special offer whereby if you book a few days in advance you can go for ten euro return.

Only if you're travelling at off-peak hours, at times that suit them.
