Coffee Noob (work question)

Hello. I wanted to gain some advice in relation to a query I have. I've been a coffee lover for a couple of years now, and have recently acquired some kit for making decent coffee at home (Gaggia classic, Baratza grinder and other accessories. I've been ill for a couple of years, but looking to regain employment (disability allowance allows part-time work). I'm 24 now, with 6 years retail experience, but no cafe/coffee shop experience. I want to undertake a bit of training, just so it looks that I have some form of knowledge and interest on my c.v. I know Bewley's and 3fe do courses. Would this be a good idea to take up? I know training would be provided, but I'd like to show I have some knowledge. Maybe some of you have experience working in coffee shops, and have opinions?

    Thank you.

p.s. It's great to see real coffee lovers on here, and passing your knowledge of good places to drink up. :)
