I transferred a load of avi files to my ps3, and while most of them work fine, some of them 'say unsupported data'. How can I fix it?

If you can, I'd recommend using PS3 Media Server instead of transferring files over.

I installed it last week and it's made a huge difference when playing video files - transcodes on the fly for you too!

I have a mac though, could I set that up?

    Yep, I'm on a Mac too :)

Only problem is I can only get it to run when my PS3 is wired to the router. But otherwise it works perfectly!

The Sony PS3 really isn't very good for playing files. I have a Sony Bluray player that will play anything from my network. It would be nice if Sony sorted this out.

How would I go about setting this up then?

    Download here: http://www.ps3mediaserver.org/

Run it and sees if it works straight off. PS3 and computer on of course ;)

If not, check with your PS3 wired up to your router with ethernet.

If not, open the ports they mention in the in-programme setup guide (which isn't entirely useful, but still)
