teetimes.ie - how does it work?

    Hi Folks,

was wondering from a clubs point of view how teetimes.ie's tee-time reservations work? I see they are tied in with discoverIreland and can somehow determine (maybe linked with BRSGolf or admin rights) what tee-times are available at a particular club. What's in it for them? What's the split?

With clubs looking towards other streams of revenue perhaps businesses like these 3rd party tee-time sales would be a consideration!

I have used it a few times and found no issues....you have to give a credit card which they dont charge ... You then pay in the club when you arrive with the print out of the booking... no idea how it works behind the scenes...

What happens if you book a tee time but are unable to play on your selected booking. Will your card be charged. Finally is it possible to cancel on their website and if so how much notification is required ?

what did you do ? teetimes.ie not coming up now!

never any hassle there , i have cancelled with less than 24hours notice as i realised i had booked the wrong day. send them a email, got reply <1hour later.
also have turned up with less people than i booked for , no problem with that either.

I have no idea to be honest... as I said I have used it 4 or 5 times and would have always turned up.... but I know there are 2 ways of booking on the web site.... The first is that you give you cc details but you pay the club and nothing is charged to your card... (they may charge your card if you do not turn up) and the second where you pay with your cc and pay nothing at the club.

I think it depends on the club which is used.

From a club's point of view (and a golfer's) Teetimes.ie works smoothly. The booking system on the website is linked to the BRS timesheet (if you have it, but it's not necessary to have it if you are a paper-based club and still want to use Teetimes.ie) and also generates automated emails to the club and the golfer to confirm the details of the booking.
If you have to cancel a booking it's very flexible, and you can do so up to 24 hours before the tee time. Within 24 hours, it's up to the club itself, but there's usually no charge. A charge might only arise if you make a booking and then don't turn up, without cancelling.

Hi, I'm new to golf and booking systems, thus the question: when I try to make a booking most (almost all) golf courses offer to pick a time with 8 minute interval. Does that mean that if I book a tee-off at lets say - 13.00, another person will follow in 8 minutes? Since I'm new to golf - I'm slow and I would like to enjoy the game without pressure of slowing anyone down, so how does it work?

Just book it it lad, and if you find you're holding groups behind you up call them through at an appropriate time.
