I am selling an old car thats in my name to a friend who wants it for rallying but I want to get it out of my name and into his incase he crashs it, causes damage or is stopped by garda. The car is not taxed, insured or nct and he wont be doing anything with it either apart from rallying in a bog. I have the change of ownership form for him to sign tomoro but can I give him the car tomoro then(will I be in the clear if anything happens) or do I have to wait until the form is registered with the department of transport

Get it filled out and dated. Not your problem then. He can drive it away. Send it off yourself and its no harm to keep a copy.
