Looking to pick up the latest acer aspire laptop in Harvey Norman for €1999, have the money to spend and I'm interested in getting a very hi spec model. I don't want people here telling me what I intend to use laptop for and that a lower spec one will do me because when I'm buying I'm going for a hi spec one anyway and I'm going for a pretty decent one at that. I also want the laptop for xmas so I will buy laptop in store. This machine has i7 processor 2.0 ghz , 16gb RAM 2GB NVIDIA graphics. Im this close to buying it but I need to know if acer are a good brand? I was going to get Toshiba first but now its looking like this acer one. Anyone want to list the pros and cons with this acer aspire laptop? Anything I should be aware off? I would prefer Toshiba but they don't have the spec of this acer one. Opinions and comments on this acer laptop.

There is no way in hell i'd spend that kind of money on an acer!

I'd be looking at an Asus tbh. I presume this is a gaming machine?

I know you said not to ask you what you're going to use this machine for, but if you're not going to be doing intense stuff with this laptop, i think you'd be absolutely bonkers to spend that amount on a laptop. If you're only doing basic stuff, you'd be better off spending 600 on one.

I don't see one for that price on the Website, Link to Model? The Acer 5750 had a few reviews that mentioned heat issues, I use a 7741G sometimes and find it brilliant, it must be coming up on 3 years old now and not a bother with it, it'd knock out a Bear.

Professional reviews though I find are pretty shi*e, they run down everything, read one or two just to make sure their is no MAJOR issue with the Make/Model, if not and if you are happy with price and spec then go for it.

Not sure i'd spend that much on an Acer either.. They also make Gateway and Packard Bell..

They are manufactured with some of the higher spec Toshiba's, From Compal (Only in the high spec bracket.)
The lower spec ones are bought randomly (No particular manufacturers, They see a build that suits them, and purchase that.), and are seen more of a "pocket filler/money earner" etc.. i.e. The lower specs are just manufactured without a lot of care from the distributor.

Toshiba for a High Spec, wouldn't be my first choice either..

Samsung/Apple/Dell/SOME Sony, Would be where i would look, when paying that price..
