    Hi Folks..

I play with a Titleist 910 D2 driver and recently noticed a tiny gap at the top of the shaft - as per photo:

I was custom fitted for driver and I've actually no idea if this gap was there when I first got the club.

I have not noticed any difference but I'm worried that if this is not supposed to be there - there may be a problem over time.

Has anybody seen something like this before?

    Thanks

Yes I've seen this numerous times before and generally speaking it doesn't affect performance and isn't a problem long term, but if you want to be sure then take it to any decent pro to have a look.

I have the same problem with my d3.
I was meant to take it back but never did. I think its more annoying than a performance issue.
You can hold it over a boiling kettle until the ferrule expands. You should then be able to slide back down to the hosel.

Looks like the ferrule has slipped slightly, nothing to worry about. Push it in and bate away!!

get it fixed, the head is coming off the shaft. it happened to me with my old driver. gap got wider until a friend was using it at the range and the head flew off.

    Might not be that drastic.

Just mark the shaft 1 inch exactly from the top of the ferrule.

If the ferrule is moving the inch distance will get smaller.
If the shaft is coming out of the head then the inch distance will stay the same and the gap at bottom of ferrule will get bigger..

Had the same problem with the ferrule on my old vokey wedge.
Just kept on pushing it back into place every once in a while, it's fairly annoying but as long as you can put it back into place you shouldn't have any performance issues.

    Thanks for the replies.

I actually sent the picture to Titleist (Acushnet) over the weekend and had a phone call from them this morning.

Apparently it will not have any effect on performance but I if it annoys me from an aesthetics point of view - then they will take it back after Xmas and sort it.

Happy enough now - not sure if I'll bother sending back it over to them tbh.

The call back so soon from a customer service agent was impressive though.

Or maybe its just a case of getting too used to poor service over here throughout the years!
