Folks, I am cancelling Sky tmrw, but have a number of programs recorded on the HD box. Will I lose these or can I remove the card prior to cancellation thus preventing the loss?

Once it's canceled you will have no access to previous recordings no matter what you do, and of course you'll lose the ability to record as well.

Would recordings of FTA programs (BBC1/2/3/4 etc) also be lost, or just programs that were encrypted be lost.

Once the cancellation takes effect, you will be unable to replay anything recorded on your Sky+HD

However your recordings are not quite 'lost', they are not deleted from the hard disk in your Sky+HD, you just won't be able to play them.
If you were to resubscribe to Sky again in say 6 months or a year, you would be able to access them again. (Provided the old Sky+HD box was still working of course)
