Peugeot Expert/Citroen Synergie

    Hi guys
    I have a 2006 Expert 1.9d with a cooked engine :mad:. I can get a 1999 Synergie 1.9d locally that has significantly less mileage on it, timing belt kit done etc. but need to know if the engine will just slide in or will there be any problems or pecularities of any kind before I buy.
    Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Depends if the synergie is turbocharged/Intercooled or not. Same with the Expert.

    There was 4 different variations of tune depending on a turbos/intercoolers/ecu's as far as I know with the XUD9 fitted to PSA vehicles.

    They are 95% the same engine across the board though.

    Where are you based?

    EDIT:

    Actually I was thinking of the Belingo there for some reason.

    Was the Expert really just a rebadge of the Fiat Scudo with a Fiat 1.9td?

    If so, I'd say the XUD is totally incompatible with the boxer if its fitted with the fiat unit. If its fitted with an XUD9 engine, your in with a chance

    They are both straight non-turbo engines and as far as I know they are not Fiat Scudo engines. But I'm open to correction on that. They both originated in England but don't suppose that makes any difference. I'm in Sligo incidentally.

    They are much the same engines but the engine ecu's/immobiliser will be differant...I have never seen it done but i suppose anything is possible..:)

    You don't want to be paying labour costs swapping out engines when your not sure if it will work....Can you not source the same type of engine..?

    These engines don't normally give trouble so they should be plenty of them around..if you do fit another (same) engine then you may need to bypass the stop solenoid on the injector pump.
    The 1.9D engine on a 2006 Expert should be the DW8B type.
