Customs On Package From US

I'm looking at buying over the counter meds from the US. The shipper has said it can be marked as "Personal Care" I wondered if this will mean I don't have to pay custom charges on it?

What tags are liable for customs and what are not?

It's illegal to send medicines through the post. If customs seize your package they will destroy it, and you will end up with a written warning, maybe a fine too, depending on the medication.

Aside from that, it's very dangerous to purchase medicine online, you have absolutely no idea of what is in it etc. It may look and seem legit, but that doesn't mean they are safe.

The seller will 100% reassure you they are safe to use, etc, but would a seller really honest and tell you if the medicines aren't OK to use?

Sorry, I don't mean pills or anything. It's actually Rogaine Foam for hair loss :o

I'm not sure if that falls under medicines and the site has been recommended by a few reputable companies, it's just I wondered about the markings.

A quick Google of Rogaine Foam and this thread pops up

It doesn't make any difference whether or not it's pill, liquid medicines, foams, gels etc, all medicines are treated the same.

Post #2 in that thread says the foam has no licence to be sold in Ireland, so if you order it and customs seize it, you will have wasted your money, receive a warning and possibly receive a fine.

The poster there also says that the Blackrock clinic can import it, so I would contact the Blackrock clinic about it and see if they can help.

Buying any pharmaceutical, over the counter or otherwise, online is not to be recommended, may be illegal, and is definitely not allowed here.

    Closed.
