I have a Zen media Player but its useless for using in a car. No devices to connect it to a stereo. I was thinking of getting an I Pod. Which is the the simplest to get? I dont need anything too fancy. I think I recall that you can get something to play it off your radio?

Where is the cheapest place to buy these devices?

The likes of Argos have the device you're referring to. Basically, you need to find a free spot on the FM system/radio and it can play there.

Check amazon for 'ipod car transmitter' or 'radio transmitter ipod' and you'll get some ideas.

Is there definitely nothing that can help you out with the Zen, a cigarette lighter adapter plus one of these transmitter things?

Does the zen have a standard socket for plugging in your headphones (don't have one but never heard of them being weird in that regard)? If so all you need to connect it to a stereo is a 3.5mm (headphone end) to 2 rca (stereo end) cable, available for a few euros in any electrical shop. Same thing with the fm transmitter, just plug it into the headphone socket of the zen, select a free frequency then tune the car radio to it. Easy! This is the one I bought a while back. Not a great range to be fair so not fantastic for home use but fine for in the car.

If the car radio doesn't have a factory-fitted input for an mp3 player then you'll need to buy an FM transmitter.
