    DRAMA: Downton Abbey
    On: TV3 (103)
Date: Monday 26th December 2011 (starting in 8 days)
Time: 21:00 to 23:05 (2 hours and 5 minutes long)

    Christmas Special.

Christmas 1919: Downton Abbey is hosting a lavish Christmas party, yet despite being the season of goodwill, tensions are rife and Bates's arrest has cast a shadow over the festivities. Will he be a condemned man or will he be found innocent in time to dance with his new wife at the annual servants' ball? Mary has to consider her future with Sir Richard Carlisle following a contretemps at the shooting party and Violet has concerns about Rosamund, whose new suitor - the dashing but raffish Lord Hepworth, is not all he seems.

    Behind the Scenes.

Did you know that Downton Abbey costs £1 million an hour to shoot, making it the most expensive British Tv show ever made? Or that while the original grounds and rooms of Highclere Caste are used to depict Downton Abbey, the scenes taking place in the servants' living quarters are filmed at Ealing Studios almost 100 kilometres away? In this one-off special, Downton Abbey: Behind the Scenes, we take a peek under the veil of mystery that covers Downton Abbey - both on and off the screen. Learn about the care that is taken to perfect the transitions from the rooms of the Crawley Family to the servants' quarters, the hours that go into creating the authentic costumes, and uncover the real-life secrets hidden in the grounds of Highclere Castle.

That's the behind the scenes episode but it's actually on later that night. Don't know why I didn't see it before.

    Thanks anyway

The second one Biggins listed is the Behind the Scenes episode. The first one he listed IS the Christmas special.

Does anyone know if the Downton Abbey Christmas special will be repeated again? I missed it Christmas night and have looked for it on the ITV realplayer but you must be a UK resident to be able to access it.

^^ Between the channels I'd say it's been repeated at least five times so far since Christmas! It was on ITV this very afternoon actually. Just keep your eye on TV3 and ITV.

Thanks for that. Yes I saw on an other post that I had missed the repeat again today. I managed to record the' behind the scenes' one that was on over Christmas, but missed the actual episode. Am new to Downton but am completely addicted now! Will keep a keener eye out for it.
