skype on a mobile phone?

    It is a Vodafone Smart 858.
    Can I use it as a Skype phone?

    I think it is android and ,when I google *smart 858 skype* it does seem to show that there is an skype app for that phone.

    If I have my own router (or if I go to a public wifi spot) can I run the phone (as a skype phone ) off it on the wifi -or is it going to be a problem regarding sim cards , unlocking etc etc. (I don't have a sim in now but I did get it from Vodafone and it will take this sim if necessary)?

    If I can do this can I download the app to my computer and transfer it to the phone via the cable -or do I need to connect the -phone directly to the website in order to download?
