    Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone knew what punishments there actually is for men not paying maintenance? I've had a total of 625 off my delightful ex since nov 09 and nothing at all since may, even though there is orders in place for him to pay for my two children.

i brought him back to court in sept and he never showed and a warrant was issued for him and he was arrested finally a few weeks ago, we were also ment to be back in court recently for the continuation of the sept case and he never showed again and now there is another warrant out for him, im owed over 2000 euro now and clearly sick of this.

I was also wondering what would happen with him over the failure to show in court too??

    thanks all

A judge in naas last Wednesday sent 3 guys to the joy for not paying maintenance. They were to be held till they paid. It wasn't the normal judge but a stand in.

Let the court do its thing, him not appearing isnt doing himslef any favours.

The court can make an order to have it taken at source i.e his wages or dole.
