Saw an i40 estate today, looks a bit wonky in the pics but in the flesh a very handsome machine. Makes your Mondeos, Passat look very, very tired. Would certainly get me into the showroom.

A soggy cardboard box makes a mondeo and, to a lesser extent, a passat look tired.

    What's your point?

There have been a few posts on the i40 and all have said that it looks more 'premium' than much of the opposition but no-one has said anything about the interior.

Anyone care to comment on how the interior stacks up against the opposition? (quality & looks).

I bought an I40 in Aug, I changed from a 2009 Passat and the car interior quality is just as high as the VW. The design is a lot different but that doesnt mean it's lower quality, it reminds me a lot of an Accord I had a few years ago. The I40 drives well, it's not very fast but that's not where it's being pitched. It does about 1100km on a tank of diesel and is very comfortable with loads of space for the kids and buggies (that's something the Passat couldnt do) while looking fairly stylish (to my eyes).
