i'm not a professional, but i use apple aperture & photoshop. i'm pretty sure most pros use a combination also
    -adobe light room
    -photoshop...
-and some might use apple aperture as well.

Agree on Aperture for small brush-ups, really handy.

aperture is great for workflow ... import the raws in, do your minor touch ups and export .. final tweaks in photoshop where needed.
my only issue with aperture is it is an absolute hog. i have a 2010 MBP i7 and it eats ram like crazy! never used light room, but i hear it's good

Also not a pro but I use Lightroom and shift it over to Photoshop when I need to. The two talk well.

    I use:

    Lightroom 3
    Photoshop CS5
    Color Efex Pro 4
And a little application called Analogcolor which cost about €10. Doesn't get used very often, but it's very good at what it does.

I probably use Lightroom and Color Efex Pro the most.

I run these on a custom built (by me ) Windows7 x64 machine (Core i5, 16Gb RAM). Handles everything very smoothly.

Sometimes I think I can actually hear it laughing at Photoshop :pac:

I use Lightroom. I use PhotoMechanic for processing on-site and submitting to agency/papers.

I use Lightroom/Photoshop combo. I like Lightroom for cataloging the 5000+ images I might take in a month and managing my workflow. It also has FTP upload built in for client approval.

Normally I import the RAWs into Lightroom and give them an initial 'look", then upload a selection via FTP to my site for client viewing, then finish off their selects using Photoshop, delivery again either electronically via FTP or CD.

I tried Aperture but it doesn't suit my workflow as well as Lightroom.
