    Hi,

Brother sent me this link to this new film out - actually released in Lux today and in their cinemas on the 23 Dec.

    The Road Uphill

About the two Schleck bro's and others. Looks good.
The distributors told my brother that Irish cinemas will get it eventually.
But it will be shown in Feb at the Berlinale film festivale and will be sent out then, so a while to wait.

Apologies if this was discussed before but a quick search showed nothing.

    K

Cant wait to see it,always liked the Shlecks.Things might be different for the bros in 2012 as they may not get to ride together as much under the new structure in the new team of Radioshack-Nissan-Trek.

Can't see the film being much entertainment.

90 minutes of watching two guys look behind them in case anything happens, and then when something does happen fail to respond.

Trailer looks ok...(...theres bikes and racing in it....Im in!!)

Im not a huge fan of these guys but realistically Andy has to be one of only a handful of pro cyclists in the world that can win the TDF.

also it looks like were never going to see it!!

Wow, that would be some turn of events. I was looking forward to having a watch of this - though I'm no fans of the boyo's. I can understand where Bruyneel was coming from if this is true..........second place being first loser and all that.;)

The comments below the article seem to suggest that it is not true.

Best in the world? well, except for the guys who are better than them! Contador, Evans etc.

best in the world at failing to take opportunities presented to them. they are extremely talented, but that is not enough.

Exactly what have they won to make them 'best in the world'. I have no doubt that Bruneel will get them to the level they should be at. at that stage, maybe make a movie.

And I reject the point about me not being able to do what they do. I have lost loads of races, am crap on descents and a am bit of a moaner!!!

no answer to this one i'm completely flummocts :D:D:D

this is something i can't understand about cyclists, like would you guys say that Sean kelly is not world class he never won the tour ok he won the green jersey 6 times and loads of stages in the tour oh wait he also won the veulta and all the major classics ,and then theres lance armstrong jesus that fella only won the tour 7 times and the worlds ah but someone said there is a black mark over his wins (bollocks) ;) but somewhere someone will have something negative to say about these champions ,why the **** is that, could you guys climb as good as any of the top pro's eh no you could not thats why like me you can only watch and dream .
so no matter how ****in smart you think you are slagging off any of the pro lads remember at the end of the day we go out and ware the jerseys and buy the bikes but thats as far as any of us will ever get. cycling round the back roads of ireland is not the same as racing in the tour de france ;)

Off topic slightly.. just as a matter of interest.. when these lads are cruising (if that's the right term) in the middle of a stage and on flat bit of road taking a drink or chomping a Mars bar or whatever... what speed are they doing?

And when they get to the last few kms at the end of the stage what sort of speed to they do (not including the last sprinting to the line bit)?

Average speed of the peloton is about 45 kph. You can't compare that to cycling on your own though – think of it like matching that speed behind a bus, kind of.

Ah come on dude back up the truck....... I certainly am not slagging off any pro lads as you put it. I am simply asking what do the 2 boys do, they have to be in fairness two of the most boring predictable cyclists on the scene at the moment. I am not for one minute saying they are crap far from it they just need to step it up a gear on the excitement front, we all know the potential is there certainly as far as Andy is concerned.
By the way I have never worn a trade/team jersey/kit and never will...:D

When cruising I believe its 35 -40 kph.
When the bunch is really moving I reckon it's in the 45 - 50kph
When the sprint is starting its as fast as your legs can turn the biggest gear.
I believe Cav touches 70kph when in full flight.

anyway happy christmas and keep sake on the road.;)

    Its a unfortunate title ..
    The Road Uphill ..
if theres one thing the Schleks will not want to be reminded of .. its riding uphill and all the events , mishaps losses they have had because of riding uphill... (granted a few good but rare days)

I heard the working title was called 'The Road Ahead' but Andy asked whats that, Ive never seen it is what he claimed :-)

looking forward to viewing it, hope its half as good as this ..

Cruising at 40-45kph... that must be so cool..
Here's me wheezing along at 25kph thinking 'hey this is not bad'...time to get some more miles in methinks... :)

Mick Murphy "Attack in the morning, attack the road" What a legend. Always brings a big grin to my face

Puts different perspective on Blood Doping when he used to "tap the cows" but he preferred the horses as "the blood was purer"

And to think that Contador got done for eating a steak :pac:
