As a newbie to online gaming and having just died countless times in 10 minutes can someone please point me in the direction of some kind of tutorial on multiplayer gaming:confused:
There are loads of characters running around with little triangles over their heads... are these my team mates or the enemy??

I should have said that I am playing Medal Of Honour at the minute to get an Idea of whats happening. Talked the wife into buying me MW3 for christmas so need to figure this out before I even attempt that...

Any idea's or help much appreciated..:)

You'll find call of duty much easier and fun than medal if you're new to multiplayer.Bit of advice in medal, don't run around. The game is full of snipers. Start slow sniping until you get used to the choke points and spawns and learn the maps properly. Try stick to the edge of the maps as well.
I enjoyed medal abit, but it gets a bit tiresome at times cause of all the snipers(although mw3 is full of em as well, but they're easier to find). When you get cod, send a couple of friend requests to aome of the lads(me included) on the cod forum and add them as friends. You'll notice a massive difference playing with people in a party and being able to communicate. You won't die as much as playing with randomers and you'll pick up a few tips along the way by watching how others play.

    The cod forum is here

and you should probably add a few people from here

    and here

Send the invites out yourself , you probably stand a better chance of people adding you that way.

Good luck with the new game and hope ya enjoy it.

    Thanks Meatwad

This is the kind of info that I need. I definitely see your point on the snipers!!
I'll be watching out for you in the game. Cheers

OP go out and get yourself MW 1 and 2 - 2nd hand, it'll probably set you back about €15 total at this stage. There are still loads of people playing both online and it'll give you a solid grounding for when you jump into the madness that is MW3

You should play Battlefield 3 it has a lot more depth than other popular run-and-gun titles, playing online is like being in a warzone you can control vehicles; tanks, aircraft, boats, jeeps with mounted guns etc.. matches can go on for hours.

online play in particular FPS is cruel and comes with a steep learining curve. COD is fast and furious (but I love it) got my ass kicked when I first played but stuck with it and learned the trade and now love it. 71,000 kills on MW2 ;) and counting.//////

BF is a slower more team based event. huge maps and very open with vehicles.

either way it takes time to get to know the maps and the techniques you need to stay alive and make kills. find a weapon load out that suits you, go slow or sprint? sniper, shotty or auto rifle? read up on what will give you the best fighting chance and use it to your advantage.
