Ok lads, firstly I dont be on this much, if even at all, so apologies if I have any unanswered posts or messages, and tbh I probably wont be on for much of a dicussion either but I think this is something of interest to those that may not have seen it.....

Plans to do anway with the car non-use/off road system.

Seen this in the paper and couldnt believe the sheer mentality of it.....Even if you dont use it you are still going to pay?

What about those with classics policies with limited mileage? Are we gonna be expected to pay a full years tax but use our `toys` for 2/3 summer months?

I know well there are `loopholes` for daily cars but the way I see it if the goverment never bothered to set-up an off-road scheme then they only have themselves responsible for any loss of revenue.

Does this mean that someone with a fixer upper in their garden now has to pay a full years tax NOT TO USE IT???

Personally I think its the biggest load of **** Ive ever heard, especially for 2nd car/classic drivers but see for yourself with attached paperclip!!!

theres at least three other threads on the go on this, but in essense its press rabel rousing.

What will happen is a SORN system like in the UK where you will have to declare your vehicle off the road when the tax runs out and woe betide you if you use it .

I see, thanks Corktina, I just seen this today and didnt see any top threads on it so didnt think there was any, like I said rarely on this.

Yeah thats fair enough I suppose, the way it read it sounded like it was done away with, which wouldnt surprise me in the slightest as we are getting screwed left, right and centre.

Will have a look for the other threads, sorry mods :o

Ok I found the active thread in the other section :o

Seems I wasnt the only one that read it wrong though, very badly written and misleading.

Have no problem with the sorn system if that is what happens, If I want to use it then I tax it simple!

Hopefully they`ll put some of this extra tax money into the report writing though :p:o

    Sorry again for double threads
