Patrouille Suisse have confirmed on their own site. Also looking good for something from the far East and Morocco. RIAT 2012 looking very promising indeed even at this early stage.

Hi, I'was wondering if anyone who went to RIAT before could tell me about how much money could the trip cost, including accomodation, riat tickets and flight tickets. I'd really like to go this year, but money is a wee bit tight as i'm a student...

I'm sure some other members will have better info for you ,but for a start here's a bit of info ...

Ticket prices can be found here... http://www.airtattoo.com/airshow/airshow-tickets

Prices for flights will depend on where you are flying from and when your planning on travelling....

Most accommodation near RIAT will be booked up by now so your best bet is looking at Swindon as a shuttle bus runs from there...
    Shuttle Buses
Frequent shuttle buses will leave Swindon Bus Station (close to the train station) for RAF Fairford, these buses travel along a specially designated route thus giving passengers a fast-track entry to the Airshow. Return tickets are priced at £6 for adults and £3 for children.

    Times
    Journey time approx 30 minutes
Swindon Bus Station to RAF Fairford:
    First Bus 0715
Frequency at least every 20 minutes
    Last Bus 1230
RAF Fairford to Swindon Bus Station:
    First Bus 1430
Frequency at least every 20 minutes
    Last Bus 1930

A lot of good info can be found on the RIAT site... http://www.airtattoo.com/airshow

The line up is really starting to look very good this year. with still 4 months to go there are a few rare items confirmed, including the most recent yesterday, that being USMC MV-22 Ospreys, flying and static. Also the first appearance outside of the UAE is their display team Al Fursan, only formed late last year.

More info and aircraft already confirmed here:

can anyone give me a bit of info about the departures day? Not big into aircraft but like the fast stuff and will be in england that weekend for the GP at silverstone so im thinking about takin a run down to this on the monday. Just really want to know if it would be worth it for a casual spectator?

Never done departures, Chris. Have read that aircraft start leaving early morning and carry on throughout the day though. Suppose to be quite a busy day.

    Another nice update today.

FAAM ARA (Atmospheric Research Aircraft) BAe 146-301 (S). Rare aircraft.

The confirmation of the 52nd Country to appear at a RIAT/IAT, Columbia. Sending a C-130H and a T-90 Calima, which has not been seen outside Columbia before. Not that much to look at as such but as rare as wooden horse droppings ! Both in the Static display.

Departures is fantastic, particularly so, if you are actually on base . Not as good as it used to be years ago, when you would have stuff leaving every 5-10 mins from 7.30 am - 5pm . I remember being on the ramp in cottesmore 2001 . We had to leave to catch our flight and we missed one of the last pairs to go, 2 italian F-104s , one of which had a soft tyre . Our flight meant we had to leave by 4pm , we were mad, but we had to go, and there were still so many planes there at that stage .
Nowadays, almost everything is gone by 2pm . There are probably only about half the number of aircraft there now, that there used to be only 10 years ago . We just didnt appreciate how good we had it .

Yeah, fantastic addition, and on static not flying past at 1500 feet. Will be my first one, really looking forward to it.
