you can get another 10% off with code.

3 gig nvidia GT 555 video card, 6 gigs memory, 1tb hd, i7 proc. working out at around 900 euro.

Missus just got one. Seems good.

that does look quite nice, I would need however to upgrade to the 1080p screen which ups the price by about 300!

the graphics card would be my only worry, I want the game to run at its highest settings without breaking a sweat, so im not sure if the GT 555M can do that?

Sager laptops do some very nice gaming machines - but they can be pricey.

Just so you know - the same processor can behave very differently in 2 machines - all the different components have to work together...

Also - avoid alienware like the plague. They were good, then dell bought them out and are gutting their reputation for all the pennies they can.

Here is a slightly different Asus than the OP for ~€900:
    15.6" Glossy HD+ 1600x900 LED TFT
    CPU: Intel Core i7 2670QM
    Hard Drive: 640GB S-ATA (5400RPM)
    Optical Drive: Blu-Ray Combo
    Memory Supplied: 6GB DDR3 1333 (2GB x 3)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

you wouldnt happen to have this code would you?

now looking at pushing out my top price to 1800

    Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 2670QM (2.20Ghz, 6MB, 4C)
    2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 580M
    6144MB 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [1x2048 + 1x4096]
500GB (7,200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive
    17.3" WideFHD (1920 x 1080) WLED LCD

on - http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html the 580M is the top graphics card rated outside of the SLI or Crossfire cards(I dont know what those mean but im guessing super expensive)

    worth it?

is this really true? Ive heard it alot but in the office I work is literally wall to wall Alienware laptops, the only complaint people seem to have is the price, which I totally agree seems insane but this is a one off insane purchase!

Wow, just found a discount code for 15%, that dropped the price to just over 1500, which was my original limit, I think thats just made up my mind!

As far as I know, SLI and Crossfire means two cards stuck together.

Almost, two cards working in the same PC.

OP are you sure you need a gaming laptop? Is portability a must? If not then for the money you are spending I'd recommend a desktop.

its not an absolute must but the appeal even of being able to move it from the sitting room to the kitchen/bedroom or to a friends house is massive!

If I could build a PC I would imagine I could get something amazing for the money, but the pre-build ones ive looked at online seem very pricey for around the same spec, or else I dont know where to look!

If you go over to the PC Building and Upgrading forum those lads or even myself would spec you a build for a desktop. Just answer these questions when you post. You get way more bang for your buck not buying a pre-built and building your PC is not as daunting as it seems or you can get the website to build it for you. Don't go for an Alienware/Dell because those lads will just try to rip you off.
