How much did your driving license cost you ?

    I'll start.

    3 lessons at 25 euros / lesson plus a good few lessons with my Dad and driving on my own with Second provisional when it was allowed.

    However my first years Insurance was the same price as the car :rolleyes: 1700 euros.

    I'd say to get my driving license cost about 150 euros in total, however the real cost was much higher due to the crippling cost of Insurance.

    Missus is looking at doing hers now here in NL, minimum 25 lessons, 1500 euros, with the Thoery Test and possible additional lessons it should average out at around 2000 euros.

    However her Insurance will be significantly cheaper, she wouldn't even need to be named on my car to drive it (NL you insure the car not the person)

    Did test in 2004. Did the typical 1 lesson on the day of the test as was the norm around here. So I think €15 plus licence fee. In relation to insurance, I paid 2600 punts as a named driver back in 2000.

    Around 200 i think, got 4 lessons and did my test between leaving cert exams.

    1st cheap car €800
    1st insurance €1600

    1 failed test €70

    then 5 lessons €150

    1 passed test €70

    All in - €290 plus assoc costs of €2400 for car + insurance

    Got 8 lessons at 17 years old at IR£15 each. Bought a car when I was 18, car was Ir£1500, insurance was IR£1588, got 3 pre test lessons a year and a half later at IR£20 each I think, dunno what the test cost, 'tis going back a bit in time, 2001.
