    Acer eNet management

It detects my wireless connection - and I entered my WEP password... but Acer eNet says it has to be 5 or 13 characters long !! WTF ?

My password is only 8 long and i've no problem connecting the other laptop / 2 iphone a playstation and anything else that needs to connect.

This is my friends laptop and i'm trying to test a few things..

    Why wont it connect ?

Is it using the right encryption and authentication settings?

Sorry, just saw your other message. Log into your access point and see what security settings are used just to make sure your using the right ones when setting up the connection manually.

Sorry it didnt work out, one of the others might have an idea, not using the right security settings is the only reason i know that it wouldnt exchange data with the AP. Lol your not the only person to ask that question.

right click on the wireless icon beside the clock and goto network and sharing centre. On the left there is a link called manage wireless networks. delete any that are in there. Now there will be no red X. The reason you are getting that is because the laptop was connected to the router at some stage and the settings have been changed on the router end.
