I think it's a standard trial, I see it every so often on the bottom of the skype window as an orange advertisement.

Its gotta be for everyone Davy. Ive never paid for skype, and use it rarely, so highly unlikely i was" selected" for a freebie mailing list. Im sure the notifications will come to all users.

Remember to cancel your subscription once you sign up for the trial. I did this a while ago. Think they will ask for your credit card details for authorization purposes and never actually charge your card until the free month is up. Wouldnt want you getting charged now would we?
I signed up, got the free month and didnt bother doing anything with it :o

I have been using skype for years though and never had this offer. The fact that you have never paid for it could be the reason, as they want you to see the full service and then hopefully buy it after the free trial

Betamax Providers are much cheaper for Landline calls.

Think I have over 300 days of free calls 'almost' worldwide with justvoip :)
